Some ideas begin with a business plan. Becoming You began with a box of memories.
I have always loved sorting, organizing and finding a meaningful place for the things that matter. But it was during a family move, when my daughter was three years old, that this habit led me to an idea I could not let go of.
A Box Filled With Memories
As I unpacked and organized the pieces of my daughter’s early years, I found her ultrasound photographs, hospital bracelet, first lock of hair, baby teeth, photographs and other small reminders of how much she had grown.
Each item held a story. Yet they were scattered across different boxes, albums and envelopes. I began to wonder why there was not one beautiful place where a child’s most meaningful memories could be kept together.
When I Couldn’t Find It, I Decided to Create It
I began searching for a keepsake book that could bring everything together—not only photographs and milestones, but also the small, irreplaceable pieces of childhood that families carry with them.
I wanted space for ultrasound photographs, a hospital bracelet, a first lock of hair, baby teeth and a letter written especially for the child. I also wanted it to feel like a story parents could read together with their children.
When I could not find something that held all these ideas in one place, I decided to create it myself. That decision became the beginning of Becoming You.
More Than a Baby Memory Book
Becoming You was designed to be more than a record of dates and milestones. It is a child’s life story—a place where photographs, family memories, meaningful keepsakes and heartfelt letters can live together.
My hope is that parents will not simply place it on a shelf. I imagine families opening it at bedtime, reading the stories together and remembering the moments that shaped their journey. Each time the book is opened, those memories and the love surrounding them can come alive again.
A Gift for the Future
Many years from now, when a child has grown, I hope Becoming You will become a gift they can hold in their own hands—a warm and lasting reminder of where their story began and how deeply they have always been loved.
This is the heart behind Becoming You: to preserve the moments that pass quickly, so they can be held, revisited and treasured for generations.
Every family has a story worth keeping.
